Becoming aware of candles
Keeping a diary of the candles and the subsequent ripples is one good way of watching those ripples manifest new opportunities in your life. It is also encouraging to see how all your efforts are reaping rewards.
So how do you light a candle ?
Like I wrote earlier, in any way or any which way you can. You could see from my example of meeting my wife to be in a nightclub queue how many different kinds of opportunities there are. There are as many ways of creating ripples as there are stones in the universe. Some big and some small, some red and some green and so on.
Sometimes you can cause a ripple by doing something that seems unimportant and unimpressive.
Just the simple act of writing an email can cause a ripple that could lead to you eventually shaking the popes hand or appearing on a chat show! You may laugh but who knows where your opportunities may lead.
There again you could do something enormous like appearing on a late night quiz show and it could lead to you washing dishes in a cafe. You see how random it all is and how unpredictable? The fact is we don't know what ripple could be caused by throwing one metaphorical stone. It doesn't matter how big or colourful that stone is.
Here are just some examples how you could light a candle ( throw a stone).
Talk to somebody who happens to be sat next to you on a bus or a train.
Arrange to go for a drink with a few work colleagues.
Join a local club.
Help an old lady to cross the road.
Make a point of making at least one new friend a week or a day (if you are feeling brave)
Walk into a pub and make a friend or strike up a conversation.
Go for a family day out and talk to a stranger.
Sit in your front garden or sit on a chair in front of your house and make
conversation.
Go to a local sports event and talk to the person next to you, even if you don't
like the sport !
Meet friends from Facebook and make new ones.
This list is an eternal list, it could go on forever. There are millions of ways in which you could light a little candle ( throw stones.)
The most important thing is to be aware of making these opportunities, you are the one person that can change your life, nobody is going to do it for you.
Throwing a stone and making a ripple is all about you taking charge of your own life and making things happen that you want to happen.
It's about being in control.
